கரீபியன் கடலில் ஏற்பட்ட இசாக் புயல் அமெரிக்காவில் கடும் புயலாக மாறி லூசியானா மாகாணத்தை தாக்கியுள்ளது.

தற்போது அங்கு கடும் சூறை காற்றுடன் பலத்த மழை பெய்து வருவதால் மக்கள் அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையை இழந்து வீடுகளில் முடங்கியுள்ளனர்.

இப்புயலால் 1 லட்சத்திற்கும் அதிகமானோர் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். மணிக்கு 130 கி.மீ வேகத்தில் இப்புயல் வீசியதால் மின் கம்பங்கள் பலத்த சேதமடைந்துள்ளன.

இதன் காரணமாக அம்மாகாணம் முழுவதும் இருளில் மூழ்கியுள்ளது.



அமெரிக்காவின் லூசியானா, மிஸ்சிசிப்பா, அலபாமா, புளோரிடா ஆகிய 4 மாகாணங்களில் ஜனாதிபதி ஒபாமா அவசர நிலையை பிறப்பித்துள்ளார்.



இது குறித்து ஒபாமா, புயல் தாக்கினால் சேதமும், வெள்ளப்பெருக்கும் பெருமளவில் ஏற்படும் அபாயம் உள்ளது.

வளைகுடா பகுதியில் இருப்பவர்கள் உள்ளூர் அதிகாரிகளின் கோரிக்கைகளை ஏற்று அங்கிருந்து வெளியேற வேண்டும்.

எச்சரிக்கைகளை கடுமையாக பரிசீலித்து பாதுகாப்பான இடங்களுக்கு செல்லுங்கள் என்றும் அரசு உங்களுக்கு தேவையான உதவிகளை செய்யும் எனவும் அதற்கான ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாகவும் ஒபாமா தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

கடந்த 2005ம் ஆண்டு லூசியானாவை தாக்கிய கத்ரீனா புயலுக்கு 1,800 பேர் பலியாகினர் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

மேலும் கெய்தி மற்றும் டொமினிகள் குடியரசு நாடுகளில் இப்புயலுக்கு 24 பேர் பலியாகியுள்ளனர்.
